I am so excited to share my new knitting design MeshUp Shawl. I named the shawl after one of my favorite music styles mashup and the main style of the mesh section. Mashup music is sampling of a variety of music tracks, sometimes of various music styles. Some great artists are Girl Talk and Norwegian Recycling. Both artist use so many samples that copyrights of the songs are almost impossible and they offer their music for free download.

MeshUp Shawl's main section is a mesh design and the colorwork is a combination of fair isle and lace. This the the mashup of 2 traditional styles creating something unique and not seen before.

Due tho the mesh and lace this is a very light and airy shawl and great for Spring to Fall weather or if you live in a warmer climate like Florida.

For the light blue version I used 3 skeins of Knit Picks Stroll Heather in color Wonderland Heather and a mini skein set from OldCrowsArtYarns called That Nasty Ass Ribbon Candy.

For the purple pink shawl I used 2 skeins of Knit Picks Stroll Tonal in color Raven and Knit Picks Stroll Gradient in color BFF. I split the BFF in 3 skeins and worked from light color to dark and back to light color.

The fair isle lace section can be worked in many different color choices. You can use a handpainted yarn, your leftover yarns, a mini set, anything from 3 to 6 colors. I added to the pattern a gray and white colored chart template so that you can color up with colored pencils your own version.

A good idea is to work a sample of 2 repeats of the fair isle lace chart to understand the pattern and see how your colors work together.

Here are some samples I worked.

The pattern has been test knitted and professionally tech edited.
